GPDNET 9th General Assembly Concludes: A Day of Collaboration, Innovation, and Youth Empowerment

Doha, Qatar – The 9th General Assembly of the Global Public Diplomacy Network (GPDNET) concluded on May 23, 2024, marking a successful day of collaboration, innovation, and a renewed focus on youth engagement in public diplomacy. 

The assembly brought together esteemed members from around the world for a series of productive discussions and knowledge exchange. The agenda centered on celebrating GPDNET’s achievements, assessing network challenges, and exploring strategies for enhanced communication and collaboration. A particular emphasis was placed on leveraging social media to amplify the network’s collective voice and impact, particularly amongst young audiences. 

Members had the opportunity to share successful projects for website publication, showcasing the dynamism and diversity of the GPDNET network and inspiring future generations. 

A key highlight of the assembly was the launch of collaborative public diplomacy projects, including the development of exciting youth-oriented programs. These programs aim to raise awareness, build capacity, and equip young people with the skills and knowledge to become active participants and future leaders in shaping the global public diplomacy landscape. 

Beyond the formal sessions, the member delegation participated in a series of cultural activities, visiting prominent institutions like Qatar Foundation, Qatar National Library, Al Shaqab, and Heenat Salma Farm. These visits provided valuable insights into Qatari culture and heritage, fostering a spirit of understanding and connection amongst members. 

The 9th GPDNET General Assembly concluded with a warm farewell dinner, solidifying the network’s foundation and paving the way for a future of impactful public diplomacy driven by collaboration and empowered by the active participation of young leaders.
