The exhibition features photographs showcasing traditional costumes from 19 GPDNet Countries: Bosnia, Bulgaria, Cuba, Ghana, Hungary, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Mozambique, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Rwanda, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkiye and Ukraine. Where the public is invited to enjoy the visuals of each costume’s details in virtual time.
Taken the divisive international environment, showcasing ancestral apparel with pride, reflects individual cultures and helps forge an appreciation for what makes each nation unique.
The premiere of the physical exhibition was held in Katara Cultural Village on May 22, 2023 as part of the 9th General Assembly events. Upon the agreed initiatives, 5 members, Bulgaria, Cuba, Bosnia, South Africa and Rwanda, took the initiative to host the exhibition in their premises.
To show unity within diversity and highlight the importance of preserving and promoting the uniqueness of ethnic costumes of the members and their heritage for future generations, GPDNet took advantage of its online platform to expand and preserve the initiative for the public.
