Katara was born out of a long-held vision to position the State of Qatar as a cultural beacon a lighthouse of art, radiating in the Middle East through theatre, literature, music, visual art, conventions and exhibitions.

Katara houses 9 fully equipped galleries for art exhibitions, and workshop spaces in support of the local and international artists, and to provide a platform where knowledge transmission could be developed, arts educational programs are delivered, and unique talents are promoted and celebrated.
