The Cultural Village Foundation “Katara” will host the meeting of the 9th General Assembly of the Global Public Diplomacy Network on May 22 and 23, with the participation of members from 19 countries.
During a press conference held at Katara’s Hall 32, His Excellency Prof. Khaled bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, the General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation “Katara,” addressed the audience. The conference was attended by several managers from different departments of Katara, along with representatives from newspapers and the media.
During the press conference, His Excellency Prof. Al-Sulaiti expressed his vision for the upcoming GPDNet session to be exceptional and serve as a significant milestone. He emphasized the importance of fostering a shared vision among members, which would enable the network to embark on a new phase of renewable growth, meeting the demands of a promising cultural future. To achieve this, he highlighted the necessity of exploring innovative approaches to address challenges and developing work programs aimed at raising awareness and enhancing capacity in the field of public diplomacy. Furthermore, he stressed the significance of actively involving young people and maximizing the potential of social media to promote understanding and cooperation between nations and societies.
He further conveyed his optimism that the upcoming conference will see a higher level of engagement and focused dialogues that capitalize on the achievements of GPDNet members. This is aimed at fostering youth interaction, communication, and paving the way for a promising future in public diplomacy that is both active and impactful.
About the matter, the Secretary-General of the General Public Diplomacy Network and CEO of the Katara Public Diplomacy Center, Maryam Al Saad, highlighted the importance of the upcoming General Assembly, the primary objective of which is to establish a flexible system that actively contributes to the development of future projects.
Ms. Secretary General shared her anticipation for the 9th general assembly gathering of GPDNet to be a platform for in-depth discussions and fruitful results that will contribute to the enhancement of collective efforts in public international diplomacy. The meeting is envisioned to exemplify the Network’s fundamental aims of promoting advancement and strengthening collaboration and interaction between countries and populations.
