The National Library of the Republic of Moldova is a cultural institution, with the mission of contributing to the valorization of the national cultural heritage, by promoting cultural policies; an institution which makes its services and programs available to the community, serving the needs of information, education, culture, research, and learning throughout the entire life.
The National Library of the Republic of Moldova is being recognized within the country and at international level for:
- Successful implementation of various activities and cultural events;
- Organization and management of traditional and digital book collections, in more than 30 languages of the world, which represent the national and world documentary heritage;
- Carrying out the international exchange of publications with other similar institutions from abroad, for the promotion and valorization of the literature and culture of the Republic of Moldova;
- Signing and implementing the partnership agreements with various institutions at national and international levels;
- Establishing collaborative relationships with the accredited Embassies and Consulates of the Republic of Moldova located abroad, as well as with the Moldavian diaspora;
- Contribution to the promotion of national culture and the improvement of the image of the Republic of Moldova abroad, through the tools of cultural diplomacy.
